Nigerian Air Force Claims Success in Airstrikes Against Terrorist Hideouts

Abuja – The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported killing numerous terrorists in a series of airstrikes targeting their fortified hideouts in Borno and Katsina states.

According to a statement released by NAF spokesperson Group Capt. Kabiru Ali, the airstrikes, conducted between March 17 and 19, targeted locations including Chiralia, Grazah, Yuwe, and Zango Hill. These operations aimed to disrupt terrorist activities in the North-East and North-West regions.

North-East Operations

In the North-East, NAF aircraft struck Chiralia, a known terrorist enclave within the Timbuktu Triangle, following intelligence reports of insurgent raids and abductions. Further airstrikes targeted Grazah, in the Mandara Mountains, and Yuwe, in the Sambisa Forest, where intelligence indicated extremist leaders were indoctrinating fighters. The NAF reported “precision strikes” and “follow-up strikes” to eliminate fleeing terrorists and damage their operational networks.

North-West Operations

In the North-West, the NAF conducted airstrikes on Zango Hill in Katsina State, in coordination with ground forces. Intelligence revealed armed bandits entrenched in the area, prompting the NAF to deploy attack aircraft. The NAF reported “precision strikes” and “follow-up bombardments” to target regrouping fighters.

The NAF claims that these airstrikes have significantly disrupted terrorist activities, neutralizing targets and destroying critical infrastructure used for logistics and coordination.
