Nigerians Flock to MRS Petrol Stations After Viral Video Compares Fuel Efficiency

A viral video comparing the fuel efficiency of Dangote and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has sparked a surge in demand for Dangote fuel at MRS petrol stations across Lagos State.

The video, which has been widely shared on social media, appears to show a comparison test between the two fuels, with Dangote fuel lasting 13 minutes longer than NNPC fuel.

As a result, long queues have formed at MRS petrol stations, with many Nigerians seeking to take advantage of the perceived benefits of Dangote fuel.

However, the NNPC has responded to the video, stating that it is misleading and inaccurate. The company’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, pointed out that both fuels in the comparison test were sourced from the Dangote refinery, which is a strategic partner of the NNPC.

The NNPC has also threatened to take legal action against individuals or groups who spread false information about the company’s operations.

The development has sparked a heated debate among Nigerians, with some hailing Dangote fuel as a game-changer and others questioning the validity of the comparison test.

The controversy has also raised questions about the role of the NNPC in the Nigerian energy sector and the impact of Dangote’s entry into the market on the country’s fuel supply.
