The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has completed a 5-day training program for 100 youths in Ebonyi State, focusing on modern methods of electrical installations and maintenance. This initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at creating wealth and employment opportunities for Nigerian youths.
The training, which took place at Remeritona Hotel and Suites in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, covered advanced topics such as electrical wiring installation, appliance repair, solar power installation, and electrical panel maintenance.
According to NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, the agency is contributing to economic growth and poverty alleviation by providing skills acquisition training. This program is the third in the South-East zone, following similar exercises in Anambra and Imo States.
The 100 participating youths received startup kits containing essential electrical tools, including face shields, safety boots, and wireless inspection cameras. NASENI urged the beneficiaries to utilize these kits to build their careers and train others.
In his address, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, emphasized the state’s vision to create opportunities for its youths to succeed and contribute meaningfully to society. He noted that skill acquisition is crucial for building a resilient economy
