She described their win as the “will of God” and a testament to the current administration’s dedication to serving the people of Kogi State.

In her congratulatory message, Mrs. Ododo urged the elected officials to prioritize the welfare of the people at the local government level, ensuring they benefit from democracy’s dividends. She expressed her belief that their leadership would positively impact lives, particularly in rural areas, and accelerate development across the 21 local government areas.

The First Lady emphasized key areas of focus, including:

  • Infrastructure Development: Improving roads, healthcare facilities, and other essential infrastructure.
  • Improved Healthcare: Enhancing access to quality healthcare services, especially for vulnerable groups.
  • Education: Investing in schools and educational programs to empower the next generation.
  • Inclusion in Governance: Ensuring active participation of women, youth, and other marginalized groups in decision-making processes.

Mrs. Ododo encouraged the newly elected chairmen to collaborate with stakeholders to make governance felt in rural communities.

Her message comes after the successful completion of the local government polls, which saw the election of new council chairmen and councillors across Kogi State.
