Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has officially sworn in the newly elected chairmen of the state’s 23 local government areas. The ceremony took place on Sunday at the Government House in Port Harcourt, following the issuance of certificates of return by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).
In a tense election process on Saturday, the Action Peoples Party (APP) emerged victorious in 22 out of 23 chairmanship races, while the Action Alliance (AA) secured one seat.
