Kogi Governor Calls for Peace and Unity on Eid-el-Maulud

LOKOJA, NIGERIA — The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has called for renewed prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity across Nigeria as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Maulud. The holiday commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

In a goodwill message on Friday, Governor Ododo said the occasion serves as a reminder of the Prophet’s “timeless virtues of humility, patience, and compassion,” which he described as the bedrock of a just and peaceful society.

“Eid-el-Maulud is not just a celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad; it is a call to live by the values that bind us as one people,” Governor Ododo stated. He urged Muslims to practice acts of kindness and generosity towards their neighbours and the less privileged, emphasising that such actions would strengthen community bonds.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of the people of Kogi State through policies aimed at building a safer, more inclusive, and economically vibrant region.
