Gunmen Kill Vigilante, Abduct Family in Katsina

Katsina, Nigeria – Gunmen have killed a vigilante and abducted a family of three in an attack on a residential area in Katsina State early on Tuesday.

The Katsina Police Command spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, said the incident occurred around 3 a.m. in the Filin Canada Quarters. The assailants fatally shot a 25-year-old vigilante member, Abdullahi Muhammad, before abducting a 33-year-old man, Anas Ahmadu, his wife, and their daughter.

Police rushed to the scene to restore order and have commenced an investigation. The Katsina Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, also visited the site for an on-the-spot assessment, alongside senior officers.

Additional personnel and resources have been deployed to the area to facilitate the victims’ rescue and the arrest of the perpetrators. Police are urging the public to report any suspicious activities to the authorities to help combat crime in the region.
