President Bola Tinubu has appointed Shamseldeen Ogunjimi as the Acting Accountant General of the Federation, effective immediately. Mr. Ogunjimi’s appointment follows the pre-retirement leave of the incumbent AGF, Oluwatoyin Madein, who is set to retire on March 7.
With over 30 years of experience in financial management, Ogunjimi brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. His extensive background includes positions such as Director of Funds at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation and Director of Finance and Accounts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ogunjimi is a chartered accountant, certified fraud examiner, chartered stockbroker, and chartered security and investment specialist. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a master’s in finance and accounting.
President Tinubu expressed confidence in Ogunjimi’s ability to lead the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, citing his wealth of experience and notable competence.
The president also commended Madein for her dedication and selfless service to the nation
