Nigeria’s Armed Forces Gain Ground Against Insecurity, Says Defence Minister

The Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) has praised the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, for the significant progress made in combating insecurity across the country. This acknowledgement comes as the Armed Forces of Nigeria continue to record victories over insurgents and bandits.

Representing BON Chairman Salihu Dembos, Vice-Chairman Tony Akiotu commended the Minister’s efforts, stating that the new collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and security agencies has effectively curbed insurgency and banditry. Mr. Akiotu noted that the continuous arrest of high-profile bandits and the use of kinetic and non-kinetic strategies have been particularly effective.

Minister Abubakar expressed gratitude for the media’s role in shaping national discourse on security. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the Armed Forces and other security agencies in achieving recent military successes. “Our Armed Forces have demonstrated unparalleled commitment, and we are witnessing significant victories. Insurgents are being neutralized, and high-profile bandits are being arrested,” Mr. Abubakar stated.

The Minister also highlighted the reduction in security breaches due to enhanced military operations and commended the collaboration between security agencies. “Our goal is to ensure that peace and stability are not just restored but maintained,” he added.
