Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, has charged graduates of the Nigerian Air Force’s Air War Course 10/2024 to employ innovative and proactive methods in combating complex security threats. At the graduation ceremony held at the Air Force War College in Markurdi, Abubakar emphasized the critical role of operational-level military leadership in addressing threats from violent non-state actors and asymmetric warfare.

Effective Military Leadership Key

Mr. Abubakar underscored the significance of effective military leadership across various theatres of operations, expressing confidence in the graduands’ ability to uphold the Nigerian military’s high standards and serve as ambassadors of professionalism. He acknowledged the Nigerian Air Force’s contributions to internal security and international missions, including airlift and humanitarian support.

Commitment to Security

The Federal Government, under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, remains committed to providing necessary resources to tackle security challenges. This graduation ceremony marks a significant milestone in the Nigerian Air Force’s efforts to build a formidable force equipped to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

The Minister’s call to action comes as Nigeria continues to strengthen its security architecture.
