The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Federal Capital Territory has published the personal particulars and credentials of candidates nominated by political parties for the 2027 general elections.
The exercise commenced across the INEC State Head Office in Abuja and the six FCT Area Council offices, in compliance with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2026.
Speaking on behalf of the FCT Resident Electoral Commissioner, Administrative Secretary Bimbo Oladunjoye explained that the publication covers presidential and National Assembly candidates contesting within the territory.
“The Commission is on course with its preparations for the 2027 general elections and will continue to carry out every stage of the electoral process in accordance with the Constitution and the Electoral Act,” Oladunjoye said.
INEC urged citizens, civil society groups, and media organizations to inspect the displayed affidavits and documents, noting that public scrutiny remains vital for electoral openness and accountability.
