Nigerian Electoral Commission Extends Voter Card Collection in Anambra State

Abuja, Nigeria — Nigeria’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced a five-day extension for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State.

The decision was made at a Commission meeting on Monday, October 27, 2025, in response to multiple appeals from citizens and stakeholders requesting more time for eligible voters to collect their cards ahead of the upcoming governorship election.

The collection exercise, which was originally scheduled to end on Sunday, October 26, will now run from Wednesday, October 29, until Sunday, November 2, 2025. The extension covers all persons who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in the state.

In a statement, the electoral body stressed that PVC collection remains strictly in person, with no collection by proxy allowed.

The announcement, released by Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity, urged all registered voters in Anambra State to take advantage of the extended window at the designated centres across the state’s 326 Registration Areas (Wards) to ensure their participation in the forthcoming election.
