INEC prepares for Anambra poll with PVC collection, mock accreditation

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced a major preparatory exercise in Anambra State ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, involving the issuance of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and a system-wide test of its accreditation technology.

The announcement, contained in a press statement signed by Victoria Eta-Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity, details a five-day window for PVC collection and a simultaneous mock accreditation exercise.

PVC Collection and Technology Test

Collection of PVCs for those who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will take place from Wednesday, October 22, to Sunday, October 26, 2025. INEC emphasized that collection must be done in person at the original Registration Area, with no proxy collection permitted.

In parallel, the Commission will conduct a Mock Accreditation Exercise on Saturday, October 25, across 12 selected polling units spanning the state’s three senatorial districts.

The test is crucial for assessing the performance of the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), checking its response time, and ensuring the seamless uploading of results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) ahead of the main election.

INEC urged registered voters, particularly those in the selected polling units, to participate actively to help the Commission fine-tune both its operational and technological processes.

The move reinforces INEC’s commitment to operational efficiency and transparency as it continues preparations for the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election.
