Nigeria’s ongoing drive to register new voters has logged over 1.5 million completed registrations, according to the latest figures released by the country’s electoral body.
The data, spanning the period of October 6–10, 2025, shows that a total of 1,502,733 citizens successfully completed the required online and physical registration steps during that period.

A significant majority of the completed registrations were logged by younger voters, with over 1.1 million (73%) falling within the youth demographic (aged 18–34). Furthermore, female voters led the registration drive, accounting for 55.14% (828,563) of all completed registrations, compared to 44.86% for males.

The electoral commission also provided an update on the preliminary figures from its continuous voter registration (CVR) portal for the following week (October 6–12, 2025). The platform recorded over 7.4 million total pre-registrants, with students making up a large portion of the applicants, at over 1.8 million.

The CVR process is crucial for updating the national voters’ register ahead of forthcoming elections, with the statistics highlighting a strong engagement among younger Nigerians.
