ABUJA, NIGERIA — Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has cut short his working vacation in France and is scheduled to return to Abuja on Tuesday, 16 September, to resume his official duties.
The development was confirmed in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. President Tinubu had left Nigeria on 4 September to begin his annual holiday, which was originally planned to be split between France and the United Kingdom.
During his time in Paris, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. The leaders reportedly discussed bilateral cooperation and agreed to strengthen partnerships in various sectors.
This marks President Tinubu’s seventh visit to Paris since taking office in May 2023. His diplomatic engagements in the first nine months of 2025 have included 15 trips across 11 countries, attending high-level summits, bilateral meetings, and presidential inaugurations. His itinerary has included visits to Ghana, the United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Brazil, Japan, and the Vatican.
