Lokoja, Nigeria – A Nigerian government adviser has hosted a meeting with women from his community to encourage them to consolidate their political influence by transferring their voter registration to their hometown.
Oladele Nihi, the Special Adviser on Youth and Student Matters, hosted women from the Aiyegunle Gbede community who are based in the city of Lokoja. He emphasised the importance of grassroots politics and civic engagement, urging the women to encourage fellow residents to use the ongoing voter registration drive to transfer their voting locations.
Mr. Nihi stated that relocating voter cards to their home community would allow residents to have a more significant impact on local elections and governance. He also encouraged the women to support young people who have recently become eligible to register to vote.
The official thanked the women for their participation, stating that such community-level engagement is essential for driving positive change.
