Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, has underscored the importance of building strong institutions as the foundation for good governance and national stability.
Speaking at a graduation lecture for the National Defence College in Abuja, the Minister said, “Strong nations are built on strong institutions, not strong individuals.” He stressed that the reforms and appointments under President Bola Tinubu’s administration are aimed at promoting accountability and professionalism across all government sectors, including defence.
The minister urged the graduating class to lead with integrity and to leave behind stronger systems than they found. He also commended the efforts of the African Union and the regional bloc ECOWAS in advancing peace and development, calling for deeper cooperation across the continent.
