Lokoja, Nigeria – The governor of Nigeria’s Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has flagged off the construction of a 12.5-kilometre rural road aimed at boosting agricultural development and infrastructure. The Unosi-Odonto-Ogigiri road project, located in the Ajaokuta Local Government Area, is being executed under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Ododo stated that the project is a “bold declaration of our administration’s unbending commitment to inclusive development, rural prosperity and the transformation of Agriculture in Kogi State.” He said the road would provide all-year-round access to farmlands, markets, and social services, reducing travel time and transportation costs for local communities.

According to the National Coordinator of RAAMP, Engr. Aminu Bodinga, the initiative aligns with the development priorities of both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ododo. He added that the state is set to receive a further 1,500 kilometres of road construction under the partnership.
Local officials and residents have expressed their gratitude for the project, which they say will significantly improve the local economy and living standards.
