Abuja, Nigeria – A senior official from Nigeria’s African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the nation’s youth to embrace patriotism as a key to building the country’s future.
In a statement released for International Youth Day, Jackie Wayas, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary for the ADC, said that the youth are the “heartbeat of our nation” and their actions would shape the country’s destiny.
She described patriotism as more than just a feeling, but as a commitment to service, responsibility, and justice. She urged young people to take an active role in national leadership, participate in politics, and hold leaders accountable.
Her statement concluded with a call for all Nigerians to support and mentor the younger generation, to turn “love for Nigeria into action that will build the nation we all dream of.”
