Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has condemned the public release of a video showing a passenger’s indecent exposure during an incident with Ibom Air. He described the act as “totally unacceptable” and ordered that the staff responsible be sanctioned.
The passenger, identified as Comfort Emmanson, allegedly assaulted both air and ground crew on a flight from Uyo to Lagos on August 10, 2025. While Minister Keyamo acknowledged that the initial filming was necessary for prosecution, he stated on his official X account that the public release of the indecent content was “deplorable.”
He also confirmed that the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has imposed an indefinite ban on Ms. Emmanson, preventing her from taking any local or international flights. She has since been arraigned before the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court and remanded at Kirikiri Prison.
The minister has also directed airlines to improve staff training on public relations and handling volatile situations. He also warned that passengers who engage in unruly behaviour will face similar flight bans and potential criminal prosecution.
