Kogi Governor Praises Abuja-Lokoja Road Project, Highlights National Importance

Lokoja, Nigeria – The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has expressed his gratitude to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, for the ongoing reconstruction and expansion of the Abuja-Lokoja highway. Governor Ododo emphasized the project’s critical role as a vital link between Nigeria’s northern and southern regions.

Speaking during a stopover at a section of the project site in Koton-Karfe, Governor Ododo described the intervention as both timely and commendable. He praised Minister Umahi for effectively translating President Tinubu’s vision into tangible progress on the ground, calling the road’s advancement a clear demonstration of the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.””I want to appreciate Mr. President, our father, for his love for the people of this country, especially those of us in Kogi State,” Governor Ododo stated. “I also thank the Honourable Minister of Works, His Excellency Dave Umahi, for the great work being done here.”He recalled that the Abuja-Lokoja road was once deemed economically unviable, but commended the current leadership for recognizing its strategic national importance.

“This is one of the roads that connect the North and South. It is not just economically viable; it is nationally essential,” he added, framing the work as part of a “great coalition of development, unity, and progress” under the President.

Governor Ododo also addressed the workers at the site, urging them to view their efforts as a patriotic contribution to national development and to remain focused despite potential distractions from “selfish and destructive politicians.”He concluded by reaffirming his support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government and encouraged citizens to continue praying for the success of President Tinubu’s administration. The ceremony was attended by various state officials, politicians, traditional rulers, and business community members.
