Lokoja, Nigeria –

In a display of community spirit and appreciation, Kogi United FC and Confluence Queens FC, two prominent football clubs from Kogi State, have jointly honoured Oladele Nihi, a notable youth advocate and founder of the OJN Foundation, with a ceremonial jersey. The presentation took place during a courtesy visit to Nihi’s office at the newly opened Kogi Youth Hub.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of both clubs, Abdulmalik Isah, and accompanied by Confluence Queens’ Team Manager, Tosin Ojo, presented the jersey as a mark of goodwill and respect.
During the meeting, Mr. Nihi underscored the critical role of teamwork in football and, by extension, in community development. He referenced a quote often attributed to former Spanish footballer Fernando Torres, stating, “Football is a team sport and not an individual sport. We win as a team, and every individual is better if we are part of the team.”
As the founder of the OJN Foundation, Mr. Nihi articulated his vision for sports as a unifying force. He expressed a keen interest in collaborating with experienced sports figures within Kogi State to foster greater unity among young people. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the OJN Foundation’s broader mission to empower and develop the youth of Kogi State.

The jersey presentation is seen as a symbolic representation of the strong mutual respect between Mr. Nihi and the local sports community. Both the OJN Foundation and the football clubs anticipate future collaborations aimed at advancing sports development and promoting unity across the state.
