Maiduguri, Nigeria – Nigerian troops engaged in Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have killed 24 Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents in a series of coordinated offensive operations across the North-East theatre between July 4 and 9, 2025. The operations were supported by close air support from the Air Component and involved collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force and local hunters.

According to a statement from Captain Reuben Kovangiya, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations for Headquarters Theatre Command Operation HADIN KAI, troops carried out ambushes, fighting patrols, and clearance operations in various locations.

Following intelligence reports, another ambush near Komala resulted in the death of one fighter, with troops recovering motorcycles, spare parts, and food items. On the same day, a night ambush at Kawuri general area eliminated two terrorists transporting logistics.

A fighting patrol to Leno Kura resulted in the elimination of three terrorists. On July 6, a night ambush along Ngoshe-Gava road killed one insurgent.

On July 7, an ambush near Sabsawa village neutralised two logistics suppliers, leading to the recovery of bicycles, slippers, torchlights, and other sundry items. Joint operations with the Civilian Joint Task Force and hunters on July 8 at Bula Marwa, a known ISWAP/JAS enclave, eliminated one insurgent, destroyed life-supporting structures, and recovered a gun and uniforms. Another patrol in Pambula village, Adamawa State, resulted in the death of one terrorist and the recovery of four motorcycles and a weapon.

On July 9, joint clearance operations at Tangalanga and Bula Marwa led to a heavy firefight, eliminating three insurgents and destroying their camps. Troops recovered six AK-47 rifles, 47 magazines, and ninety rounds of 7.62mm ammunition. Additionally, ambushes at Ngailda, Manjim, and Wulle villages resulted in the elimination of six terrorists, with motorcycles and bicycles recovered.
Captain Kovangiya stated that the neutralisation of 24 insurgents, supported by air operations, highlights the determination and concerted efforts of OPHK troops to keep terrorists on the back foot, thereby fostering an environment conducive for socio-economic activities in the North-East region.
