A representative from Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has addressed the importance of digital skills for civil servants at the International Civil Service Conference 2025 held in Abuja.
Ahmed Tambawal, acting director of Digital Literacy and Capacity Building at NITDA, represented the agency’s Director General, Kashifu Abdullahi, at the conference. The event, themed “Rejuvenate, Innovate & Accelerate!”, was organised by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and brought together public sector stakeholders to discuss the future of Nigeria’s civil service.
The conference served as a platform to discuss reforms, innovations, and capacity development aimed at creating a more efficient, responsive, and digitally proficient public workforce.

During a panel session on digital transformation and the digital skills required for civil servants, Ahmed Tambawal outlined NITDA’s ongoing programmes, collaborations, and policies designed to equip civil servants with the necessary digital skills for today’s technology-driven environment.
He emphasised NITDA’s commitment to promoting digital literacy and fostering a culture of innovation within the public sector, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda to improve governance for more effective service delivery.
