Tehran/Jerusalem – Iran has launched ballistic missiles at Israel, with its supreme leader vowing to “inflict heavy blows” in retaliation for Israel’s overnight strikes. Reports indicate an explosion was heard in Jerusalem, and black smoke has been observed rising over Tel Aviv’s skyline.
Earlier today, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the head of the Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, along with other senior military figures, had been assassinated in the strikes. Iran, however, claims six scientists were also killed in the attacks.

The escalation follows recent widespread Israeli strikes against Iran, which Israel said targeted nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories, and military commanders. This occurred despite warnings from US President Donald Trump, who had urged his ally against disrupting ongoing nuclear talks with Tehran.
President Trump has since called on Iran to make a deal on its nuclear programme, cautioning that failure to do so could lead to “even more brutal” Israeli attacks. Iran has accused the United States of supporting Israel’s actions, an accusation the US denies. Iran has warned that both Israel and the US will pay a “heavy price” for the attacks, raising significant concerns about the potential for full-scale regional conflict.
