The Governor of Nigeria’s Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has held a stakeholders’ forum in Adavi Local Government Area, reiterating his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and prioritizing local content in development projects.
The interactive session, which took place on Monday at the Adavi Local Government Secretariat in Ogaminana, brought together traditional rulers, political figures, youth organizations, and women’s groups from the area.
Governor Ododo, who earlier inspected ongoing road construction projects within Adavi, emphasized his government’s dedication to improving infrastructure while ensuring local communities benefit directly from these initiatives.
“We are not only building roads and bridges; we are building trust, inclusion, and ownership by ensuring our people benefit directly from the process,” the Governor stated. He assured the stakeholders that all ongoing projects across Kogi State would be completed on schedule and to the required standards, with a deliberate effort to involve local artisans and suppliers.
He also commended the people of Adavi for their peacefulness and unity, encouraging them to maintain this stability to attract further development from the state government.
The Executive Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area, Bashir Okatengwu, expressed his gratitude to Governor Ododo for the attention given to the area in key sectors such as road infrastructure, education, security, and political appointments, describing his leadership as “purposeful and people-driven.”
The forum also saw local leaders present financial support to aid community development efforts within Adavi.
Governor Ododo’s emphasis on local content aligns with a broader push in Nigeria to ensure that development projects create opportunities for local populations and contribute to economic growth at the grassroots level.
