A new residential development, “The Cape by Hall 7,” has been unveiled in Abuja, Nigeria, with its developers pledging to redefine the capital’s housing sector through a commitment to comprehensive infrastructure and environmentally conscious design.
Speaking at the launch event in Apo District, the Chief Executive Officer of Hall 7, Olayinka Braimoh, outlined his company’s vision for the estate. Unlike conventional land sales, The Cape will offer fully serviced plots, complete with roads, lighting, water, and individual plot fencing, before any construction by buyers commences. This “direct development” approach, as Mr. Braimoh termed it, aims to provide investors and future residents with unparalleled peace of mind.
A key feature of The Cape, and the inspiration for its name, is a natural stream that meanders through the development. Hall 7 has innovatively designed the estate’s recreational spaces around this watercourse, highlighting a commitment to integrating natural elements into the living environment. Mr. Braimoh emphasised this ecological focus, stating, “You can see we have a stream, which is why we actually call it The Cape. We develop, we design our recreation around the stream right there.”
The developers are prioritising the completion of all infrastructure – including storm and sewer lines, water supply, fibre optic cables, asphalt roads, walkways, and a recreation park – before any building construction begins. This meticulous planning underscores a dedication to creating a sustainable and well-integrated community from the outset.
While acknowledging the broader challenges of social housing in Nigeria due to economic factors like devaluation and inflation, Mr. Braimoh positioned The Cape as a significant contribution to addressing the housing deficit. He called on the government to foster an enabling environment for developers, asserting that “businesses create jobs,” and the sector plays a vital role in solving a major social problem.
The Cape by Hall 7 is envisioned as a concept development offering comfort, convenience, and a secure environment for investment and value growth. With 371 units planned, the estate signals a bold step towards a more thoughtfully planned and environmentally aware approach to real estate in Nigeria’s capital.
