Kogi Local Leaders Endorse Governor Ododo for Second Term

Local government leaders in Nigeria’s Kogi State have unanimously endorsed Governor Ahmed Ododo for a second term in office, citing his commitment to grassroots development and unifying leadership.

The endorsement came from the chairmen of all 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and the forum of councillors representing the 239 electoral wards in the state.

The motion to endorse Governor Ododo was put forward by William Ameh, Chairman of Olamaboro LGA, and seconded by Obaromi Comfort Olufunke, Chairperson of the Forum of Councillors from Kabba Bunu LGA. It was then unanimously approved by all present.

The declaration of support occurred during a three-day induction course in Lokoja for elected local government officials and senior finance and administrative officers.

Local leaders highlighted Governor Ododo’s strategic investments in key sectors such as agriculture, education, health, solid minerals development, and women and youth empowerment as reasons for their endorsement. They also emphasised that his administration has delivered tangible benefits to communities across the state.

The chairmen and councillors stated that Governor Ododo’s leadership has fostered unity and good governance, and that his re-election in 2027 is crucial to maintaining the state’s current trajectory. They pledged their full support to his administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State.

The endorsement signifies strong grassroots backing for Governor Ododo’s continued leadership, according to the Government House Media Team, who released the statement.
