Arsenal’s Title Bid Stalls as Crystal Palace Hold Gunners

Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League suffered a setback on Wednesday after Mikel Arteta’s side were held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium. The result means Liverpool are now just one point away from clinching the league title.

The Gunners made a strong start, taking an early lead in the 3rd minute when Jakub Kiwior scored, assisted by captain Martin Ødegaard.

However, Crystal Palace responded in the 27th minute through Eberechi Eze, who converted a pass from Adam Wharton to level the score.

Arsenal regained the lead shortly before half-time, with Leandro Trossard finding the net in the 42nd minute after being set up by Jurrien Timber, giving the home side a 2-1 advantage at the break.

Despite controlling possession for much of the match, Arsenal were pegged back late in the game. Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta struck in the 83rd minute, securing a 2-2 draw.

The result leaves Arsenal with 67 points from 34 matches. Liverpool, who have 79 points from 33 games, remain at the top of the table and now require just one more point from their remaining fixtures to be crowned Premier League champions. Manchester City are currently third with 61 points, also having played 34 games.
