Nigerian State Governor Praises Predecessor on 76th Birthday

The Governor of Kogi State in Nigeria, Ahmed Ododo, has sent warm congratulations to the former Governor of the state, Ibrahim Idris, on the occasion of his 76th birthday.

In a message released on Monday, Governor Ododo described Alhaji Ibrahim Idris as a “patriotic leader and a bridge-builder” whose contributions to the growth and development of Kogi State remain “enduring and exemplary.”

Governor Ododo noted that Alhaji Ibrahim Idris’s time as Governor of Kogi State, from 2003 to 2012, was characterised by “inclusive governance, peaceful coexistence, and remarkable infrastructural growth across all parts of the state.” He added that the former governor “remains a father figure to many of us in leadership today, and his legacy continues to guide the path of governance and unity in our dear state.”

The current governor also highlighted Ibrahim Idris’s “calm disposition, ability to mentor younger leaders, and his unwavering belief in the unity of Kogi State” as values worthy of emulation.

Governor Ododo expressed his appreciation for the former governor’s ongoing support and wise counsel, particularly in matters of governance, peace building, and political stability within the state.

He offered prayers for Ibrahim Idris, wishing him long life in good health, renewed strength, and continued fulfilment in his service to both the people of Kogi State and the wider nation.

Ibrahim Idris served two terms as the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
