The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has called on the people of the state to embrace peaceful coexistence, unity, and tolerance as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the Ramadan fast.
Governor Ododo made the appeal after attending Eid prayers at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center in Lokoja, the state capital.
In his message to the people of Kogi State, Governor Ododo stressed the importance of unity, tolerance, and understanding among the diverse communities within the state. He urged citizens to set aside their differences and work together to build a more prosperous and peaceful Kogi State.
The Governor also used the occasion to reassure the people of his administration’s commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and supporting initiatives that promote understanding and development in the state.
He acknowledged the contributions of religious leaders, traditional rulers, and local communities in fostering peace and development across Kogi State.
Meanwhile, Governor Ododo has also praised the role of traditional rulers in maintaining peace and stability in the state since he assumed office. He made these remarks while receiving the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, and members of the community on a traditional homage visit to the Government House.
Governor Ododo expressed his appreciation to the Maigari for his prayers and support for his administration. He pledged to continue the partnership between the government and the traditional institution, aligning with his commitment to bring governance closer to the people.
In response, the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, commended the Governor’s efforts in uniting the people of the state and offered prayers for his success. He also urged the people to maintain peace and abide by the law.
Governor Ododo also hosted heads of security agencies, senior government officials, and residents of Lokoja at the Government House for the traditional Sallah homage.
