Rivers State Governor Leaves Government House

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has vacated the Government House in Port Harcourt, according to sources.

Mr Fubara reportedly left the official residence on Wednesday morning, accompanied by his family and security detail.

While security at the Government House remains present, it is described as “sparse”. Armoured Personnel Carriers deployed on Tuesday night remain at the premises.

Normal activities are reported to be continuing in Port Harcourt and the surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (retired), the administrator appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to oversee the state for the next six months, has yet to assume office.

Preparations are reportedly underway at the Government House for his arrival, with soldiers observed on the premises.
