The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has revoked the land allocation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national secretariat in Abuja.
A revocation notice dated 13 March 2025, and signed by the Director of Land Administration (FTC), Chijioke Nwankwoeze, cites the PDP’s failure to pay annual ground rent for 20 years, from 1 January 2006 to 1 January 2025.
The FCT administration claims that despite numerous public notices in national newspapers and electronic media, the PDP failed to settle outstanding bills.
The letter stated the revocation, under the Land Use Act, was due to “continued contravention of the terms and conditions of grant of the Right of Occupancy.” It specifically referenced the PDP’s non-payment of ground rent.
The minister has stated the FCT administration will take immediate possession of the secretariat until all outstanding payments are made.
