The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed reports claiming that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) will resume on May 27, 2025. According to INEC, this information is entirely false and no resumption date has been announced.
The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi in a statement on X on Tuesday urged the public to disregard the misleading report. This clarification comes as INEC prepares to resume the CVR, which had been on hold. Although rumours suggested a specific start date, INEC has yet to confirm any details.
It’s worth noting that INEC had previously announced plans to resume the CVR, but no official date has been confirmed. The commission is expected to make an official announcement in due course.
