Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has reaffirmed his commitment to a transparent and collaborative relationship with the media. He made this clear while hosting the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by Chairman Grace Ike, at his office. Mr. Tunji-Ojo praised the crucial role of the media in holding the government accountable and ensuring leaders fulfill their responsibilities. He also congratulated Comrade Ike on her historic appointment as the first female Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, acknowledging her impressive track record as a correspondent and leader of the Press Corps at the National Assembly.
Miss Ike expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted areas of concern, describing Mr. Tunji-Ojo as a committed youth passionate about driving positive change in the country. She encouraged the Minister to continue partnering with the media as the Ministry of Interior delivers on its mandate in fulfillment of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
