The Arewa Youths for Peaceful Coexistence have urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State to respect the rule of law and uphold democratic principles.
In a statement signed by Bature Haruna, National President and Mark Okpanachi Ogah, FCT Coordinator, the group expressed concerns over the governor’s recent actions, particularly the signing of the N1.188 trillion Rivers State 2025 budget into law.The group argued that Governor Fubara’s actions defy the judiciary’s recognition of Martin Amaewhule as the legitimate Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. They also accused the governor of betraying his benefactor, Nyesom Wike, who played a vital role in his political ascent to power. The Arewa Youths for Peaceful Coexistence called on Governor Fubara to retract the signed budget, respect judicial rulings, and abide by the reconciliation intervention proposed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They emphasized that governance must be based on legality, principle of separation of powers, and transparency.
