The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Amanda Azubuike on her historic promotion to Brigadier General in the United States Army.
Azubuike, born in London to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean mother, has had a distinguished career spanning over three decades. She joined the U.S. Army in 1994 and became an aviator after completing the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course.
Throughout her career, Azubuike has held various pivotal roles, including:
- Platoon Leader: Led troops in various operations
- Flight Operations Officer: Coordinated flight operations and logistics
- Public Affairs Officer: Served as a spokesperson for the U.S. Army
- Deputy Commanding Officer: Currently serves at the U.S. Army Cadet Command
