Nigeria’s Civil Service Reforms Gain Momentum with Singapore Study Tour

Nigeria’s Head of Civil Service, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has led a delegation of 20 State Heads of Service and select Federal Permanent Secretaries on a study tour to Singapore. The four-day programme aimed to understudy Singapore’s renowned civil service, exploring key aspects of public service delivery and operational efficiency.

A statement signed on Monday by Henshaw Ogubike, director of Information and Public Relations highlights the tour’s key takeaways, including futuristic thinking, sense of community, realism and resilience, regulatory excellence, and competency-driven workforce. Ambassador Aduda commended Mrs Walson-Jack’s visionary leadership, expressing confidence that the knowledge gained would enhance service delivery and drive reforms across Nigeria’s public sector.

The study tour is part of Nigeria’s efforts to reform its civil service, aligning it with global standards. The government aims to build a world-class public service that fosters innovation, enhances governance, and prioritizes citizens’ needs.
