Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has called on the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) to support his administration’s efforts in enhancing security, agriculture, and land reforms.
Governor Ododo made this plea during a meeting with NASRDA’s Director General, Dr. Mathew Olumide Adepoju, emphasizing the need for collaboration to improve the state’s Geographic Information System. This partnership aims to facilitate land reforms, promote agriculture and food sufficiency, and ensure security of lives and property.
The governor acknowledged NASRDA’s cutting-edge technology and innovative capabilities, urging the agency to provide necessary assistance to drive development in critical sectors. These areas of focus are outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding between NASRDA and the Kogi state government, signed in Lokoja last year.
In response, Dr. Adepoju commended Governor Ododo’s achievements in infrastructural development and other areas within his first year in office. He expressed gratitude for the governor’s adoption of space technology in combating insecurity and promoting development, assuring that the partnership between NASRDA and the Kogi state government will continue to benefit the country and the people of Kogi state
