Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has assured families of Nigeria’s fallen heroes of total support for their bravery and patriotism. This commitment was made during the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony at the World War Cenotaph in Lokoja.
Governor Ododo acknowledged the significance of the day, describing it as a moment to remember and reflect on the contributions of the armed forces to nation-building. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting families of fallen heroes and providing for veterans who served Nigeria with distinction.
Key Commitments:
- Free Health Insurance: Immediate enrolment of widows and children of fallen heroes into the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme.
- Support for Injured Officers: Continued support for injured officers and men of the armed forces in Kogi State.
- Unity and Nation-Building: Call for unity towards building a nation worthy of the sacrifices made by fallen heroes.
Governor Ododo also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing peace and security in his administration’s renewed hope agenda. The event featured a traditional wreath-laying ceremony, where Governor Ododo paid tribute to fallen heroes alongside military commanders, traditional rulers, and representatives of army veterans
