Planned Power Outage to Hit Abuja Residents

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned power outage in parts of Abuja, effective from January 6 to January 20, 2025. The outage, scheduled to last from 9am to 4pm daily, is necessary for the relocation of eight 132kV and 33kV transmission towers along the Apo axis.

The towers are being relocated to facilitate the Federal Capital Development Agency’s (FCDA) road dualization project. The outage will affect residents in Kubwa, Karu, Maraba, Nyanya, Masaka, Keffi, Kukwaba, and Apo Mechanic, as well as parts of Lugbe, Trademore Estate, Pyakasa, Sabon Lugbe, Chika, and Alaita axis.

TCN has apologized for the inconvenience and assured that power supply will be restored as soon as the towers relocation and cable stringing are completed.
