Kogi State Governor Presents ₦3 Billion to 80 Climate-Impacted Communities

Nigeria’s Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has presented a substantial sum of three billion Naira to 80 communities impacted by climate change. This funding, which will benefit over 2,381 direct beneficiaries in 170 groups, is part of the Community Revolving Fund under the Agro-climate Resilience in Semi-arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project, a collaborative effort with the World Bank Group.

Governor Ododo emphasized that this initiative aligns with his administration’s commitment to ensuring food security and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the state. He assured that the Kogi State government will continue to provide a conducive environment for the project’s success and sustainability.

The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing sustainable agriculture and enhancing the welfare of families across Nigeria. He urged the benefiting communities to utilize the funds diligently, ensuring that other community members continue to benefit from the project.

The Community Revolving Fund, an interest-free investment fund, began its disbursement in June 2024, with over 2,381 direct beneficiaries. The second phase of disbursement acknowledges the effective utilization of the first phase and the Kogi state government’s overall performance, as evaluated by the World Bank Task Team
