Elon Musk’s Starlink Increases Prices in Nigeria Amid Regulatory Challenges

Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, has announced a price increase for its Nigerian subscribers, effective immediately for new customers and from January 27, 2025, for existing users. The company cited the need to enhance its network infrastructure and maintain high-quality internet service as the reason for the price adjustment.

The new pricing structure sees the Standard (Residential) plan increase to N75,000, while the Mobile – Regional (Roam Unlimited) and Mobile – Global (Global Roam) plans will cost N167,000 and N717,000, respectively.

Starlink stated that subscribers who no longer wish to continue with the service can cancel their subscription at any time. This price increase comes after a previous attempt to raise prices by 97% in September, which was met with backlash and regulatory challenges.
