A 27-year-old automobile technician, Abiodun Ajao, has been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State for allegedly stealing and dismembering a customer’s vehicle. The vehicle, with number plate Lagos BDG 956-FJ, was driven from Lagos to Idona, Ijebu Imusin, Ogun State, where Ajao began disassembling it for sale to potential buyers.
According to Dyke Ogbonnaya, Public Relations Officer of Ogun NSCDC Command, Ajao initially claimed that the vehicle’s engine was faulty and he was trying to find buyers for the parts. However, after further questioning, Ajao revealed that the vehicle was brought to him for repairs and he was test-driving it before handing it over to the buyer.
Ajao confessed to driving the vehicle with passengers in Lagos before dismantling it in Ijebu Imusin. He has been pleading for forgiveness, according to the NSCDC
