Foundation Brings Joy to Widows and Orphans in Abuja

Sunday & Omoikere Oriaran Foundation Partners with MOM’s Fertility Clinic and Waterlight Save Initiative to Host End-of-Year Celebration

ABUJA – In the spirit of giving and kindness, the Sunday & Omoikere Oriaran Foundation (SOOF) teamed up with MOM’s Fertility Clinic and Waterlight Save Initiative to host an end-of-year celebration for widows and orphans in Abuja.

The event, held on December 21, 2024, at City Park, Wuse 2, brought together hundreds of beneficiaries for a day of joy, entertainment, and generosity. The festivities included games, free medical checkups, talk sessions, and prayer sessions.

Each participant received a pack of food, water, and soft drinks, while children were treated to special gifts from Santa. The foundation also distributed thoughtful gifts, including bags of rice, wrappers, books, and stationery, to ensure everyone left with a smile.

According to Dr. Mrs. Rose Anthony Orianran-Anthony, Convener of the Sunday & Omoikere Oriaran Foundation, “The essence of this event is to remember those who are less fortunate, especially during the holiday season. We want to bring joy and happiness to widows and orphans and show them that they are not forgotten.”

Mr. Lawrence Oris, Co-Convener of the Foundation and humanitarian, added, “Giving is not just about having millions; it’s about showing compassion and kindness. We’re giving everything from books to clothes to rice, over 3,000 bags of rice, to make a difference in the lives of these vulnerable individuals.”

When asked about the sustainability of the initiative, Patricia Eric-Samuel, Project Manager of the foundation, expressed confidence in the project’s continuity. “We’ve been doing this for the past six years now, and it’s been very sustainable. In fact, we’re already considering using the national stadium for next year’s event because the current venue has become too small for us.”

The outreach aimed to alleviate the suffering faced by widows and orphans, especially during the holidays. SOOF, Waterlight Saves Initiatives, and MOM’s Fertility Clinic share a common goal of bringing positive and lasting change to vulnerable communities in Abuja, Nigeria, and throughout Africa.

As the year comes to a close, the efforts of SOOF, Waterlight Save Initiative, and MOM’s Fertility Clinic serve as a reminder of the power of compassion and kindness. The event was a testament to the impact that can be made when individuals and organizations come together to make a difference in the lives of others.
