Nigeria’s national power grid has collapsed again, leaving millions without electricity. This is the 12th time the grid has failed this year, with 11 previous collapses recorded between January and November.
The latest collapse occurred at around 2:09 pm on Wednesday, according to a tweet from Nigeria’s National Grid. The grid’s handler confirmed that restoration efforts are underway, following what they described as a “major grid setback”.
This recent collapse marks the fourth time in three months that the grid has failed, with three collapses occurring within a single week in October. Nigerians have taken to social media to express their frustration and disappointment with the frequent power outages.
