Nigeria’s Defence Minister Commends President Tinubu for Prompt Payment of Military Entitlements

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his decisive action in ensuring the prompt payment of military salary increases with three months arrears.

The statement, signed by Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations, confirmed that military personnel have started receiving alerts for the three-month salary increase. Mr. Matawalle commended President Tinubu for his commitment to the welfare of serving and retired military personnel.

The Minister acknowledged the efforts of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, Wale Edun, in facilitating the payments. Mr. Matawalle urged the Nigerian military to remain steadfast in their duties, assuring them that President Tinubu is committed to boosting their morale and providing necessary support to combat insecurity.

The Minister highlighted the significant contributions of the Nigerian military in combating insurgency, terrorism, and other forms of criminality, reiterating their vital role in ensuring national security.
