Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has extended warm congratulations to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his decisive victory in the Ondo State governorship election. Governor Aiyedatiwa secured 366,781 votes, surpassing his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party, who garnered 117,845 votes.

Governor Ododo, who served as deputy chairman of the committee on election management and strategy in the Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council, attributed Aiyedatiwa’s success to the tireless efforts and strategic planning of the APC leadership and members. Their determination to retain power in Ondo State paid off, according to Ododo.

Ododo expressed confidence that Aiyedatiwa’s administration will continue the development trajectory established by the APC in Ondo State. He praised Aiyedatiwa’s proven track record, stating, “We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa; he has been tested and can be trusted to continue the good work of the APC administration.” Ododo highlighted Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to building on existing infrastructure development, social welfare, and security initiatives.

Governor Ododo commended the people of Ondo State, particularly non-indigenous communities, for their peaceful conduct during the election. He assured that their support will be recognized and rewarded by the government. Ododo urged the people of Ondo State to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa as he prepares to assume his full term in office in February 2025.
