Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a decisive victory in the Ondo State governorship election, winning all 18 local government areas with 366,781 votes. His closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), trailed behind with 117,845 votes.
This election marks Aiyedatiwa’s first full term as governor, having taken over the role after the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s passing in December 2023. Governor Aiyedatiwa’s sweeping win demonstrates his strong support across the state. In contrast, the Zenith Labour Party’s Dr. Abass garnered only 2,692 votes, finishing a distant third.
