Ondo State Governorship Election Sees Smooth Conduct, Says INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of today’s governorship election in Ondo State’s 18 local government areas. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, Resident Electoral Commissioner, announced this while overseeing the exercise in the Ondo Central area, noting that the commission promptly addressed observed challenges.

Election Highlights:

  • Prompt Response to Challenges: INEC officials quickly resolved issues, ensuring minimal disruptions to the voting process.
  • Effective Deployment of BVAS: Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems functioned with minor issues, facilitating smooth voter accreditation.
  • Timely Commencement: Elections began early in most areas visited, with INEC officials resuming duties promptly.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Benedict Igwe, and other senior officers, including FCT Police Commissioner Tunji Disu, monitored the election alongside Mrs. Babalola.
